Over the years I have attended many training events and courses as a participant. These have ranged from engaging and informative to exciting and occasionally life-changing. Some have been soul destroying in the intensity of the boredom they have induced. As a result I always tried to make sure that if I'm the person stood at the front I put on a good show. And when people give up their precious time to come to a training course, putting on a good show has to mean that they take away something relevant to their work and their personal development.
I have been involved in designing and delivering, or facilitating many training courses since 1997. All the courses I now deliver are designed for participants that actually want to be involved, and are experiential in style. (i.e. people have to get actively involved, rather than sit and listen to me talk all the time).
I am currently happy to design and deliver training courses around sexual health and/or relationships (this may be through fpa if they have a course that fits your needs), men's' health, the use of counselling skills, assertiveness, communication issues, and (through Employee Counselling Service) stress in the workplace.
Under the sexual health heading, there are few standards for trainers to work to, however, you can expect my training work to comply with those set out in the Department of Health's Recommended Quality Standards for Sexual Health Training.
Phone me or email me to find out if I can help you out in this area.
